The addictive buttons are items that appear in Animation vs. Addiction.
Appearance
The buttons are short, colored cylinders on thin, gray rectangular prisms. They come in many colors, including pink, blue, yellow and red.
Function
The buttons, when pressed, visually change the environment of the world temporarily correspondingly to the button's color. Multiple buttons will mix colors as well, and can give the user the ability to fly as long as the color lasts. However, the buttons have several other side-effects that only show upon repeated usage that make them rather harmful to actually use:
Repeat usage causes:
- Slow dulling of colors seen by each respective button.
- Slow decrease in the length of the button's effects after pushing.
- Decrease in the amount of given flight time after pushing (eventually reducing to no flight at all after three buttons)
- Onset increased weakness in limb mobility.
- Onset increased amounts of fog in the user's vision that obscures everything but the buttons.
- A visual decrease in the amount of polygons in the surrounding environment.
History
Animation vs. Education
Animation vs. Addiction
In the episode, the buttons appeared on the ground.
Blue takes them and keeps on pressing them. The buttons represent addictive substances as pressing it changed the landscape and allowed Blue to float in the air, or basically get "high" (a slang for drug intoxication). However, in ending of its episode, Blue finally overcame the addiction with the help of
The Second Coming.

Trivia
- The buttons effects (giving the user a pleasant sensation that becomes less strong after every usage, causing them addiction, physically and mentally weakening them) are the same as real life drugs. This is very likely intentional due to the theme of their episode.
